Ignite your passion to write - 2 hour workshop
Are you are thinking about writing a fiction or non-fiction book? Maybe you have already started your writing journey? Whatever stage you are at with your writing, you are invited to ignite your passion to write in this supportive, practical and informative workshop.
Julia Zivanovic has published two books, one is an international best seller. She has experience both traditional paper publishing and e-books. Over the past 30 years, she has written for magazines, newspapers, and industry publications. She is currently working on a non-fiction business book, a book on travelling with dogs and a novel.
As part of her creative journey she studied at a Drama School in the UK, undertaken academic studies into English Literature and conducted extensive research into creative writing and publishing. She has amassed extensive experience, knowledge and information that she loves to share with others interested in writing, of any genre.
She is a Member of the Australian Society of Authors.

Cost: $30 including GST for Mission Arts Members and $35 including GST for non-members. Gold coin donation to Mission Arts on the day for tea/coffee and biscuits.

What will be covered in the Workshop
- Snapshot of a writer's life.
- Overview of general writing milestones and understanding where you are in your writing project.
- Technical skills needed. Work out your strengths and where you could do with a bit of support.
- Practical exercises done on an individual basis to help unlock the joy of writing and polishing up your writing skills.
- Brief word on publishing options.
- Takeaway a few practical tools and list of support and resources.
What to bring with you
If you are working on a writing project, feel free to bring it with you so you can use it in some of the writing exercises at the workshop. It is not a requirement for you to share your work at the workshop. The workshop has been designed to support your individual needs.
If you have not yet started writing, just come along and enjoy learning a few things to help you kick off your writing journey and enjoy the experience of writing.

This is the first in a series of writers' workshops. Future ones, during February to April 2018, will include, an in depth focus on technical writing skills and publishing.
