Exhibition Date: April 19, 2019 to June 5, 2019
Location: Mission Arts, MARCS Park, Mission Beach
A creative exploration of artworks that have been upcycled, ie. repurposed or transformed from waste materials, useless or unwanted products into clever and creative works of art.
Mission Arts is thrilled to be hosting UPCYCLED exhibition opening Saturday April 20, 2019 at 6pm. It focuses on the artist’s inspiration when working with recycled and repurposed items, and their capacity to produce creative and imaginative pieces. In the artist’s eyes, old, discarded, and rejected materials have the potential to be recycled into interesting and beautiful works.
‘The exhibition is a discovery of ‘waste’ – particularly the reuse of discarded materials and how to make them into something new. Any unwanted material can be used such as excess packaging, junk mail, plastics, metal, canvas…the list is endless.’ Mission Arts Vice President Diana Dade stated, "UPCYCLED is about the discovery and ‘richness’ of scrap and debris, and how to create recycled art. We are exhibiting the beauty of reformed trash, and it will be inspiring and fun.”
Mission Arts embraces people from of all ages, styles, from emerging talent to established artists to exhibit alongside each other. UPCYCLED Exhibition opening night is 6pm Saturday April 20, 2019. This is a free event with a cash bar and light nibbles. The exhibition will run from April 19, 2019 to June 5, 2019 and will be open daily from 10 am – 2 pm.
