Drawn To The Wild - (Solo Exhibition by Pete Marshall)
Exhibition Date: June 17, 2022 to June 28, 2022
Location: Mission Arts, MARCS Park, Mission Beach
A collection of wildlife 2D paintings/drawings in coloured pencil/charcoal/acrylic.
An artist specialising in environmental and wildlife studies, and with acknowledgement in the art world in Australia and overseas, Pete has travelled the world's wild places and conservation projects to gain material for her art for some 20 years.
Now residing in just north of Cairns, her subjects are more local, and particularly birds of the Tropical North. As a Signatory Member of Artists for Conservation, her desired objective in her art is to bring the beauty and fragility of nature to the viewer, hopefully stirring a responsive perception of today's environment.
Pete has received many awards and accolades through her career. In recognition she is an invited Signatory Member of Artists For Conservation ( Canada ) (AFC), Coloured Pencil Society America (CPX), Society of Animal Artists ( USA ) and Australian Guild of Realist Artists (AGRA). She is Senior Art Advisor to the developing Wildlife Art Museum of Australia Foundation, Global Ambassador to AFC. She was recently invited as a Board Member to Atherton Tablelands Foundation to lead an exciting art project to celebrate and promote the unique environment and ecology of that region, with its subsequent flora and fauna.
This exhibition at Mission Arts will feature some of her latest works including the wildlife of TNQ, which have given her special joy.
