Shannon, Suzanne (Sue)
My formal training was at the North Adelaide School of Art, majoring in fabric printing and design.
Suzanne was born in Sydney and moved to Adelaide in her 20's. She is a graduate of the North Adelaide School of Art, majoring in fibre construction and fabric printing. Relocating to Cairns, Far North Queensland in 1995, she now lives at Mission Beach and on a cane and cattle property at Bilyana.
Her work begins with a response to the surrounding natural environment, to the beauty, the colours, forms and textures. She works intuitively, with the work evolving in the process of making and resolution. Textiles have a lasting appeal because of their texture and flexibility. She uses a variety of printing techniques and has now moved onto painting on canvas in acrylics and mixed mediums.
